What is integrative medicine?

Integrative medicine is an approach to healthcare that includes all factors that have an influence on a person’s health. At Agapé Integrative Medicine we achieve this through chiropractic care and a functional medicine approach to interpreting health questionnaires, running labs and counseling you on your nutrition and lifestyle. We also offer therapy like acupuncture to help with a variety of conditions.

Our Story

Dr. Jordan and Dr. Kari are both from the Midwest and met in chiropractic school in Minneapolis, MN. Shortly after they began their studies, they found out that not only did they have a connection personally but also professionally.

They started attending all the same extra-curricular seminars together so they could learn more than what basic chiropractic school curriculum was teaching. One of the first seminars they went to, one of their biggest mentors to this day (Dr. Bob Rakowski) was teaching on his pyramid of health. At the bottom of his health pyramid was love that you have for yourself and others.

That concept of love stuck with both Dr. Kari and Dr. Jordan. When they were brainstorming ideas for the name of their business, they were inspired to incorporate love in their name using the biblical term agapé since all that they do comes from a place of love for God and for their patients.

Both Dr. Jordan and Dr. Kari are extremely passionate about serving God and inspiring others to live a more purpose-driven life along with taking care of their health, which in their opinion is the best way to honor yourself and God.

What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine is a systematic approach to locating the breakdown or dysfunction is in your biochemistry or physiology. We focus on treating you as a whole, not focusing solely on your symptoms. In many cases, the body can heal itself if you give it the right tools. Our job is to find out what tools your body needs so it can do the repair job right.

Dr. Kari Willfahrt | Functional Medicine, Chiropractor, Acupuncturist | Boise, Idaho

Dr. Kari Robertson

Dr. Kari is a truly integrative practitioner—with her doctorate in chiropractic, certification in acupuncture and additional training in functional medicine.

In addition to her four years of chiropractic school at Northwestern Health Sciences University (during which she was the co-president of the Functional Medicine Club all four years), she obtained her acupuncture certification which included over 300 hours of training under a licensed acupuncturist.

If that weren’t enough, Dr. Kari also has over 700 hours of post-doctoral training in subjects such as brain chemistry, blood chemistry, metabolic detoxification, thyroid mastery, hormone balancing and more. She also has special training in the eight extra meridians and loves to incorporate her knowledge of eastern and western medicine to her holistic treatment approach. And since all that simply isn’t enough for her, she has done additional training in women’s health and pediatrics.

Dr. Kari graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. While there, she had the unique opportunity to work alongside the creator of the Body Worlds Exhibition in their advanced anatomy lab based in Germany. Her favorite life experience was the summer before chiropractic school where she nannied for a family in Italy. In her spare time, she enjoys being active outdoors, weight-lifting, playing volleyball and experimenting in the kitchen.

What is agapé?

Agapé is the Greek word for an ultimate self-sacrificing kind of love. It is unconditional.

We believe that in order to fully heal and become the best version of yourself you must first learn to love yourself unconditionally.

“And most of all I will love myself. For when I do I will zealously inspect all things which enter my body, my mind, my soul, and my heart.”

— Og Mandino
